Donations for Masjid

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org

Dear honorable and respected mufti sahib,

Questions:  May donations for building of new masjid be accepted
from non-Sunnis, Ahmadis/Qadianis, Christians or other non-Muslims?
May donations be accepted from people whose income includes sale
of liquour/marijuana, proceeds of gambling?  What should be done wi
th donations already received from unacceptable sources?
Please provide all proofs( hawalajaats) and details in English and arabic.
Sincerely

الجواب وبالله التوفيق

Ahmadis and Qadianis are not considered as Sunni, in fact the ulamah kiram are unanimously in agreement of their kufr. It is impermissible to accept donations from them.

Similarly, if someone’s source of income is haram, then accepting donations from them for mosques is incorrect.
