Are There Supplications to Protect Oneself From Physical Harm?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org

Answered by Ustadh Tabraze Azam

Question: Are there are du’a or practices from the Sunnah if one fears that one shall be harmed from someone [physically]?

Answer: Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

`Uthman ibn `Affan reported that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “No slave of Allah says in the morning every day and the evening every night, ‘In the name of Allah by whose name nothing in the earth or the heaven can be harmed. He is the Hearing, the Knowing,’ three times without that ensuring that nothing will harm him.” [Abu Dawud; Tirmidhi]

And Allah knows best.

Wassalam,

Tabraze Azam
