Do I Need To Correct Mistakes in Qur’an Recitation That Occur in My Mind?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org
Question:
Do I need to correct mistakes in Qur’an recitation if it happens in my mind?
Answer:
Dear questioner,
Thank you for your important question.
May Allah, Most High reward you for your desire to increase in knowledge.
The nature of your question is unclear.
If you are referring to inward recitation outside of prayer, you may correct the verse however you desire.
If you are referring to recitation during prayer, it is obligatory to recite aloud in all prayers (not when in congregation) such that you are able to hear yourself recite.
If you make a mistake, you must correct it in the same manner, not in your mind.
