Was My Repentance Accepted?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org
Question:
Was my repentance accepted?
Answer:
Dear questioner,
May Allah bless you.
Repentance
Alhamdulillah, by the mercy of Allah, all sins can be forgiven through repentance.
Allah, Most High says in the Quran, “Turn to Allah in repentance all together, O believers, so that you may be successful.” [Qur’an 24:31]
Say, “O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” [Qur’an 39:53]
These verses prove to us that Allah forgives all sins, and we should have a good opinion that He has forgiven us. We must know that the conditions of repenting are three according to imam al-Nawawi;
(1) leaving the sin altogether,
(2) having remorse over having sinned, and
(3) firmly resolving never to return to the sin.
Making Up Fasts
Your repentance is sound even though you have not made up those fasts yet. However, it is important to make up one’s fasts as soon as possible to clear one’s debt to Allah.
Caution About Missed Fasts
Make sure that you make a plan on how you will make up those fasts. Take my advice that life can go by very quickly, therefore do take life very serious. With noble intentions to repent and draw near to Allah, He will facilitate its completion.
May Allah allow us to meet Him, having fulfilled all of our obligations.
