Is It Permitted for a Man to Sleep on a Pillow Case Made From Silk?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org

Answered by Ustadh Salman Younas

Question: Assalam aleykum

Is a Muslim man allowed to sleep in a silk pillowcase or wrap their head with silk cloth in order to prevent hair fall?

Answer: assalamu alaykum

It would be permitted to sleep on a pillow case made from silk. This is because it is not considered, nor does it resemble, a form of dress.

As for wrapping your head with a silk cloth to prevent hair fall, the basis would be that it would not be permitted unless there is a valid medical excuse to utilize such a cloth.
