Question: As salam alaykum,

Can I pray two cycles of the repentance prayer right after the Fajr prayer because of a sin committed after it?

Answer: Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

I pray that this message finds you well, insha’Allah.

No, voluntary (nafl) prayers are not permitted after the obligatory Fajr and `Asr prayers because the time is legally considered to be occupied by the obligatory prayer.

The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “There is no prayer after Fajr until the sun rises and there is no prayer after ‘Asr until the sun sets.” [Bukhari]
