Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani
My family is non muslim and sometimes when I’m performing Ghusl they interrupt me making questions or asking for something. They insist so I can’t refuse to talk and I use to answer with a simple “yes”,” no” or better “not right now” because I know is not permissible to speak during Ghusl. My question is: Does this invalidates my Ghusl?
Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,
I pray that this finds you well, and in the best of health and spirits. May Allah grant you all good and success in this life and the next.
Speaking during ghusl is somewhat disliked (makruh tanzihan), but doesn’t affect the validity of the ghusl itself in any ways.
It would be best, as you mentioned, to keep your responses to the minimum when you must respond.
And Allah alone gives success.
