How to perform ghusl when fasting

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Abdurrahman ibn Yusuf Mangera

I just wanted to ask about how to go about a compulsory ghusl if needed during the day in Ramadan. Both the mouth and nose have to be completely washed. I think I’m going to find this difficult as taking water in a tiny bit too far in my mouth or up my nose could invalidate my fast but at the same time not washing right to the back of the mouth or to the bone of the nose will make my ghusl invalid. please advise

In the name of Allah, the Inspirer of truth

When one is fasting, it is not necessary to take the water too far up into the nose or gargle the mouth until opening the fast at iftar time, due to the risk of the fast breaking. One should clean their mouth and nose to the best of their ability without taking the water too far back during the ghusl, then wash it thoroughly at iftar time.

And Allah knows best.

Wassalam
