Should sisters avoid shopping and other such activities during the time of the Friday Prayer, even though we will not be attending, because of the sacredness (hurma) of the time? (Is this just a better adab to follow?)=”font-weight:>
“The Friday prayer is one of the most important prayers upon a Muslim. Allah says in the Qur’an,
It is prohibited to engage oneself in anything besides preparation for the prayer once the adhan has been called.”
It does not apply to the women categorically but would be a better adab to follow the men and refrain from other than preparing for Dhuhr Salat.
It is mentioned Nur al Idah as follows:
The Jumu’a Prayer is personally obligatory upon every individual who fulfils all of the following seven conditions. 1) To be a male. (this excludes women. 2)To be a free man
