When does each prayer time end?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

I know that the time for fajr ends when the sun rises. But what about the other four prayer times?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

I pray that this finds you well, and in the best of health and spirits. May Allah grant you all good and success in this life and the next.

The time for each prayer (besides Fajr, as you mentioned) exits when the time for the next prayer enters. However, it is impermissible to delay prayer such that one is unable to complete the prayer within its time. [ Shurunbulali, Maraqi al-Falah ]

Allah Most High says, “Verily prayer has been prescribed for believers at duly-appointed times.” [Qur’an]

It is also disliked to unduly delay Asr prayer (to the very end of its time) and Maghrib prayer (such that it gets dark and the stars would appear clearly in the sky).

And Allah alone gives success.

Faraz Rabbani
