Ghusl Error: Just Washed “The Affected Parts”

For several years when I was young, I was not informed of the fard of ghusl. I would be junub, and then just wash the affected body parts and pray. I want to know, do I have to make up all these prayers the last several years?

Being in a state of purity is a condition for the validity of prayer. Hence it will be necessary for you to repeat all those salahs that you offered in the state of janaba (major impurity).

Faraz notes: Given that intention is not a condition for wudu or ghusl, a normal shower fulfills the conditions of ghusl, as long as one washed one’s mouth and nose, which most people do many times daily.
