Women wearing pants in prayer

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

When I first converted to Islam, I wore pants while I prayed Salah. I want to know if I have to make up those prayers? (Some were loose fitting and others were not.)

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful and Compassionate. May Allah’s blessings and peace be on His Messenger Muhammad, and his folk, companions, and followers.

If one’s body is covered, then the prayer would be valid. It would be reprehensible (but valid) to for both men and women to pray in clothing that tightly defines their nakedness (awra). [Ibn Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar]

Such clothing is also reprehensible outside prayer.
