What did the Mothers Of The Believers Wear To Their Weddings? Is Wearing White Considered Imita

What did the Mothers of the Believers wear to their weddings? Is wearing white considered imitating the non-Muslims?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Wa alaykum as-Salam,

I do not know what special dress the Mothers of the Believers wore but the abaya or jallaba or jilbab are Islamic; as for the color white, Muslim women wear it outside all the time in North Africa even if other countries such as the Middle East and Gulf areas do not encourage it. The rest of the Muslim world is even more colorful, especially Africa and Southeast Asia. What matters is that the public apparel of a pious woman is low-key and modest, including on her wedding day. That day is the first day of her life in which she will get reward for reserving her best apparel, including perfume and makeup, for her husband.
