Praying at the office

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Mufti Mohamed Umer Ibrahim

I’m sure most of you miss your prayers due to your jobs or school timings etc like myself so… sometimes I try to PRAY QAZAHI… which is the only choice I have… I don’t have a praying section at my office AND at school… I KNOW its a pity… sometimes I pray on my chair when there is no one around, because if someone is there I can loose my concentration…

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Wa alaik As salam

As long as a person is able to stand and offer the fardh prayer, he/she is not allowed to sit and offer the fardh prayer. Therefore, the method of salah mentioned in your question is not acceptable nor valid.

You need to try your best to work out some arrangements at your office to pray with the qiyam (standing posture) and everything else in a corner of your office or in another room.

Allah Almighty always makes it easy for those who fear Him and make efforts to please Him.

And only Allah Almighty knows best
