Bleeding gums and fasts

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Can you tell me if when fasting, if your gums bleed and you swallow the blood, does it break your fast?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

If the bleeding was such that it would break wudu (see answer below), then swallowing it would break the fast. Otherwise, it would not. [Shurunbulali, Imdad al-Fattah Sharh Nur al-Idah]
