Young Men Dyeing Hair to be ‘Trendy’ ?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Is it permissible for children or young men to dye their hair blond or any other color following the western trend?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Wa‘alaykum Assalam wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuhu,

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful & Compassionate

It is not proper to do so, given the motive. However, this is merely a symptom of a deeper problem—distance from deen—which is what needs treatment.

The sunna of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) is to encourage people and to positively draw them towards the good. This inevitably busies them from the bad.

The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “Make things easy; do not make them hard. Be encouraging; do not cause people to turn away.” [Bukhari and Muslim]

And Allah alone gives success.

Faraz Rabbani.
