Does water that splashes back affect the validity of my wudu?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

While performing wudu, I wash my face and some of the water drips back into my hands along with fresh water used to wash for the second and third time. Is my wudu valid, as the water dripping back in considered to be ‘used’?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

I pray that this finds you well, and in the best of health and spirits. May Allah grant you all good and success in this life and the next.

This in no way affects the validity of wudu, as used water isn’t filthy, and a small amount of it doesn’t affect a larger amount of purifying (unused) water. [ Shurunbulali, Maraqi al-Falah ]

And Allah alone gives success. Faraz Rabbani
