My daughter has disabilities. She was born with disabilities we are married in close relations. we have been told by genetic clinic that if you marry close relation there is 1 in five chance that your child will be born with defects due to close relationship what does Islam say about this I have heard that there is narration from our prophet sallalahualihi wasallam regarding this matter can you explain

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullah,

The permissibility of marrying cousins and such non-immediate relatives is clear from the practice of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace), who did so during the life of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), and he concurred it.

In fact, the noble daughter of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace), Sayyida Fatima (Allah be pleased with her) was married, by the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) himself, to Sayyiduna Ali (Allah be pleased with him), who was the son of the uncle of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace).

The statistic given by the clinic is not accurate, as studies clearly show. Please see the following link:
