Is black magic permitted to prevent one’s husband from adultery?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

If a man commits adultery and the wife does black magic so that he doesn’t commit adultery is it allowed or not? The wife has dealt with it for many years and even said to her husbands marry her or leave me but he doesn’t. So would black magic be allowed or not? If not what should the wife do?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

Black magic is a major sin, and a harm. Harm (such as one’s husband’s adultery) is not lifted by harm—for it is merely another darkness. Rather, seek the guidance and counsel of a righteous and knowledgeable scholar on how to deal with the problems.

Wassalam,

Faraz Rabbani
