Q: Related to women’s periods, if the cycle does not stop after seven days and continues up to 13 days some times, can she make gusl after 10 days
and start namaz and touch the quraan like normal? Sometimes, the cycle stops after seven days and after making ghusal, it later appeares on the 9th day or 10th and continues. Please advise in such a case.
A: If she has set pattern e.g. 7 days, and the blood continued for more than 10 days, 7 days will be regarded as haidh and the remaining days will be regarded as istihaazah. She will have to make qadha for the Salaah after the seven days. Similarly in the state of istihaazah she will make wudhu and perform her Salaah. She will be treated as a woman who is paak. Hence she can touch and recite the Qur’an. However if the blood continued for more than the days of her normal bleeding, but stopped within ten days, her pattern of haidh will then change and the entire period will be regarded as haidh.
And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
