Istihaazah Bleeding: Ramadaan and Fasting Rules

Q: I am probably in the state of istihaazah but I am bleeding everyday continously for the past 2 months. With Ramadaan coming up I have many questions. Some days my flow is much heavier and some days its just a little, how does this affect my fasts? Please clarify the rules for salaah and reading Quraan as well?

A: If you have a previous menstrual habit then you should follow your previous habit. i.e If you used to experience bleeding for a specific number of days, then refrain from performing salaah, reciting quraan and having relations with your husband during those days of the month. When those days pass then have ghusal and perform wudhu at the beginning of every salaah time. It is permissible for a woman in the state of isithaadha to have relations with her husband.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
