Removing surma and kaajal from the eyes when making ghusl

Q: Is it necessary to remove surma and kaajal from the eyes when taking a ghusl?

A: It is necessary to wash around the eye as well as the corner of the eyes. 

And Allah Ta’ala knows best.

وإدخال الماء في داخل العينين ليس بواجب لأن داخل العينين ( ( ( العين ) ) ) ليس بوجه لأنه لا يواجه إليه ولأن فيه حرجا وقيل أن من تكلف لذلك من الصحابة كف بصره كابن عباس وابن عمر رضي الله عنهم (بدائع الصنائع 1/4)

وأما أركان الوضوء فأربعة مبحث غسل الوجه أحدها غسل الوجه مرة واحدة لقوله تعالى { فاغسلوا وجوهكم } والأمر المطلق لا يقتضي التكرار ولم يذكر في ظاهر الرواية حد الوجه وذكر في غير رواية الأصول أنه من قصاص الشعر إلى أسفل الذقن وإلى شحمتي الأذنين وهذا تحديد صحيح لأنه تحديد الشيء بما ينبىء عنه اللفظ لغة لأن الوجه اسم لما يواجه الإنسان أو ما يواجه إليه في العادة والمواجهة تقع بهذا المحدود فوجب غسله قبل نبات الشعر فإذا نبت الشعر يسقط غسل ما تحته عند عامة العلماء (بدائع الصنائع 1/3)
