Janazah Salaah and burial of a person who has committed suicide

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Is there Janaza namaaz performed for a person who has committed suicide?

Is the person who has committed suicide given a burial in a Muslim cemetery?

Of the latter two questions, I have ‘heard’ that the person has to be buried outside the cemetery. However, I have found no confirmation of it, nor can I see how this can be practical in for example Durban (but this is my opinion and not backed up by any Sharee ruling).

Bismillaah

A: His janaazah namaaz should be performed and he must be buried in the Muslim cemetery.
