Dua between the Azaan and Iqaamah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: When the Hadith says: “Dua between the Azaan and Iqamah” what about women? (except for maghrib) zohar and asar azan are given 15 minutes before men start the fardh salat. Esha and Fajar, its not allowed to give azan here. So as a girl, i’d like to know when this hadith is valid for me because I don’t know exactly when the iqamah is done in the masjid. Should I make dua just after azan?

Bismillaah

A: They may engage in dua before the fardh salaah. Insha-Allah the duas will be accepted. Duas that are made after the azaan and before the commencement of fardh are answered just as duas are answered immediately after the fardh.
