Marrying one’s step brother’s daughter

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I have a step brother from my father’s second wife and he has a daughter same age as me. Am I allowed to marry her? Her mother (my step brother’s wife) is my uncle’s wife’s sister.

Bismillaah

A: If he is from your father then it will not be permissible, and if he is not from your father then it is permissible.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
