Istikhaarah to see one’s future spouse

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: How can we perform a istikhara to see with whom Allah Ta’ala has written your name? Who’ll be my spouse I desperately want to know for some issues in our family relationships.

Bismillaah

A: Istikhara is a dua through which one seeks goodness from Allah Ta’ala for some thing permissible one wishes to carry out in the future (e.g. nikaah, business, etc). Istikhara is not carried out to gain knowledge of the future.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
