Accepting a gift from a na-mahram

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If I recieve a gift from a na mahram who is interested in me and the gift is perfume regarding which Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said (mafhoom) should not be rejected, what should I do? If I accept it then it will give off that I am also interested which is not true so can I give it back?

Bismillaah

A: Reject the gift. The hadeeth refers to a gift where there is no fitnah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
