Following medical prescriptions mentioned in the Ahaadith

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Why do we go to doctors, hospitals if the black cumin seed or kalajira is the treatment for all the diseases? I continuosly take it, then why am I not cured?

Bismillaah

A: The medication that has been recommended in the books of hadeeth have got certain procedures. For example, climatic conditions, the area you are living in, the person himself etc. All these things are better understood by a physician. Further, many a times in the Arabic language the significance of a commodity is spoken of in this way. For example, the hadeeth says “Alhajju Arafah” (Hajj is making wuqoof in Arafah.). In spite of this hadeeth all ulama are agreed that you have to spend the five days of Hajj with all the rituals that come with it. This is just to show the significance of the day of Arafah. Similarly is the case with kulunji i.e. to show its significance among other medication.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
