What should be done with placenta?

Q: My wife and I Alhamdulillah are expecting the arrival of our first child and we do not know the sex. If it is a boy we chose the Name Ridhaa and if a Girl Liba. Are these names good names to keep? And also I want to find out what must be done with the afterbirth (placenta)?

Bismillaah

A:

1. Ridhaa is a good name. However we do not know about the name Liba.

2. It should be buried.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
