Non-Muslim owned butchery

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: A butchery will be opening tomorrow which is totally run and supervised by a well known reputable Muslim man. He oversees the buying of products, manufacturing and running of the complete shop from A_Zand is willing to be open to discuss with any person concern with regards to halaal. However the shop is purchased and owned by a non muslim who only manages the finance of the business and has an existed butchery. He does no buying nor is he involved in the manufacturing process of the business nor there is any contamination. The business has brand new machinery and delivery vehicles. Is it correct for people to say not to buy from this butchery and make posters displaying without any proof nor evidence or facts? Is this not tarnishing the reputation of our muslim brother without even proof? Please advise.

Bismillaah

A: With all the commotion and confusion that goes on in the halaal industry we advise that every business that is related to meat and other products should not only be run by Muslims but it should be owned by Muslims as well.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
