Q: I had the marina loop put in, in December last year. I bled continuously for about five months and thereafter I used to spot every other day or every few days. I used to count my period as 10 days and then count a 15 day clean period. I wanted to know if what I was doing is correct or should I have followed my habit that I had previously. I’m not completely sure what was my habit before exactly because sometimes I used have my period for 8, 9 or 10 days what should I do? Right now I spot every few days so how do I count my period?
A: You will calculate your periods according to your old habit.

Q: With regards to the marina I still have a few questions:
a) If my habit prior to putting it in was a period ofeither 8, 9 or 10 days and a clean period of 21 ,22 or 23 days how do I calculate my period?
b) Should I still calculate my period according to my former habit even if I dont bleed at all in the days that supposed to count as my period? Bleed on and off right now sometimes a week will pass wherein I don’t bleed at all then I may spot for two days and then I would stop bleeding for another week.
A: You will follow your former habit until you do not experience a minimum of 15 days purity.
