Question4-Is it permissible for a widow to adorn herself like put make up on, wear good clothes, wear jewellery etc after the expiry of Iddat?
please reply in Urdu or English with reference if possible, Wassalaam
Answer:
1-2. The use of jewellery is for beautification and to beautify ones self during her Iddah is not permissible. Therefore a woman should not wear her wedding ring while passing her Iddah.
3-4. When the husband passes away some of the effects of the Nikah remain in the rights of the woman, right up to the expiration of the Iddah. Once the Iddah expires she is free to beautify and adorn herself as well as remarry.
