Is My Wudhu Valid?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Mahmoodiyah

Question:

(1) While praying Salaat I constantly feel like I have passed wind. (No sound or smell is produced). At times I end up doing Wudhu 4 or 5 times for one Namaaz. If I am in doubt is my Wudhu & Salaat valid ?

(2) On some occasions I smell something foul. (A similar smell to that of wind). I am confident I didn’t pass wind. Does the smell of something foul alone break Wudhu if I am certain that I didn’t pass wind.

(3) While reciting Qur’an during Salaat a lot of saliva builds up in the mouth.

(a) If I swallow the saliva will that break my Salaat.
(b) Sometimes some saliva comes out of the mouth. Will this break Salaat

Answer:

1)      In both instances, 1 and 2 your Wudhu will only break if you are certain that you passed wind. Your Wudhu will not become invalid due to mere assumption. These doubts are the insinuations of Shaitaan, which we were taught by Rasoolullah (S.A.W.) to ignore.

2) a. Your Salaah will not break by swallowing the saliva.

     b. Your Salaah will be valid.
