Assalamualaikum Respected Mufti,
I would like to ask about cleaning impurities. In particular shaving of the pubic hair in the private area. I am aware that it is important to shave the hair under the armpits and around the private part below the navel. but I am confused about how much of the area to shave. Although everyone is different, could you kindly give a rough estimate of approximately how many centimetres below the navel are we supposed to start shaving? Also is it Fardh to shave below the scrotum and the hind part, especially since it is quite difficult and uneasy?
Answer:
While a person is sitting, he should draw an imaginary line from about 2 to 3 inches below the navel. All the hair from below this line must be removed (shaven), i.e. from around the private part, scrotum, going towards the rectum.
