Reading “La Hawla” in Salaah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Mahmoodiyah

Question:

Q1-If a person has bad thoughts in Salaat and the person reads “laa hawla wa laa Quwwata illa billahi” or reads Ta’awwuz will Salaat be valid?

Q2-Is it advised to read the above for bad thoughts in Salaat?

Answer:

It has been mentioned in Ahsanul Fataawaa that if a person reads “La hawla” in Salaah due to bad thoughts of the hereafter then his Salaah will be valid, however if reads “La hawla” for bad worldly thoughts then his Salaah will be rendered invalid. (Ahsanul Fataawaa, Vol. 3, Page 421)

We have not yet reached any decision with regards to reciting Ta’awwuz.
