If a man gives his wife Talaaq in the absence of his wife, but in front of witnesses e.g. friends, does the Talaaq fall?
Answer:
If a man gives his wife Talaaq in her absence the Talaaq will take place. The presence of the wife is not a pre-requisite for the Talaaq to be effective. (Fataawaa Darul Uloom, Vol. 9, Page 42, Fataawaa Rahimiyyah, Vol. 5, Page 305)
