Working through online websites such as Fiverr etc.

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmathullahi Wa Barakathuhu

I would like to ask you about working through online websites such as Fiverr etc., through which, people from around the world can send you work and you are paid for that work. Work is done on soft-wares such as Microsoft word or excel and so on. Since these people are connected to other religions and countries we are not aware of their sources of income. Is it allowed to have financial contracts with them?

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

IN THE NAME OF ALLAH THE MOST BENEFICENT AND THE MOST MERCIFUL

If the questioner’s work is not related to irreligious activities, such as making pictures and videos of living things or advertisements depicting immorality and vulgarity or anything impermissible(Haram), then the income derived from such work (even though received from non-Muslims) is permissible and Halal.

Allah knows best.
