Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam was a light (نُور) or a human?

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

The Concept of the Ahl e Sunnath wal Jama’ath about the Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam is that, Nabi Sallalallahu Alaihi wa Sallam in his real essence is, not only included in the mankind but is the best of all the mankind; not only a human but the leader of all the human beings; not only from the progeny of Hadhrath Adam Alaihis Salaam but he is the Pride and Glory for Hadhrath Adam Alaihis Salaam and his off-springs. SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WA SALLAM.
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam states, “ANA SEYYIDU WULDI ADAMI YAWMAL QIYAMA” I will be the leader of the progeny of Adam (Alaihis Salaam) on the day of Qiyama –{ Mishkat page 511}
Therefore to be in the group of human beings, mankind and progeny of Adam Alaihis Salaam, is not a crest or an ornament only for Nabi Sallallahu Alailhi wa Sallam, on the contrary, human beings and the mankind became the concern and anxiety of the Angels by it. Just as Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam in his real essence is human, he is the Minaret of radiance for the total mankind with regard to the quality of guidance. This is the radiance through the light of which, the mankind could attain the guidance of the Almighty Allah. The light, which will remain glittering and shining for ever. Therefore, according to the doctrines of Ahl e Sunnath wal Jama’ath, Nabi Sallallahu alaihi wa Sallam while being a radiance(NOOR) he is in the same time a human being (BASHAR) too. And as per Ahl e Sunnath wal Jama’ath, it is incorrect to divide the Radiance and Humanism in two categories and affirm one and negate the other. (Ikhthilaf e Ummath aur Sirath e Musthaqeem: page29
