How reliable is the HMC organisation?

Answer

بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم

HMC (Halal Monitoring Committee) is a Leicester based non-profit making voluntary organisation which was established in 2003. The organisation is managed by a group of reliable scholars and concerned Muslims. Its principal aim is to regulate the Ḥalāl supply chain and ensure that genuine Ḥalāl reaches the consumer. The organisation has developed a unique monitoring and inspection framework at each stage of the supply chain, to eliminate the risk of cross contamination and assure consumers. Along with the procedural framework, the organisation has adopted a criteria of Ḥalāl that is universally accepted which includes opposition to all forms of stunning. The organisation is supported by national and international scholars and has made significant achievements in short period of time. British Muslims are indebted to the organisation for its hard work despite challenges from those in the industry who have defrauded consumers and failed to regulate the industry. The organisation should be supported in every was possible and people should only use HMC certified outlets.
