Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Question

What is the reference for this du’a?

Allahumma laqqini hujjatal imani ‘indal mamati

Answer

Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded this du’a on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu). Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “You should say:

اللَّهُمَّ لَقِّنِّي حُجَّةَ الْإِيمَانِ عِنْدَ الْمَمَاتِ

Allahumma laqqini hujjatal Imani ‘indal mamati

Translation: O Allah! Inspire/instil in me the record of Iman [i.e. reciting the shahadah] at the time of my demise

(Al Mu’jamul Awsat, Hadith: 1907. Refer: Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 2 pg. 325 and vol. 10 pg. 182

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
