Is this narration authentic?

كان ميمون بن مهران يقول: إن أقواما يقولون: لا يسعنا أن نستغفر لعثمان وعلي، وأنا أقول غفر الله لعثمان وعلي وطلحة والزبير

 

Answer

This narration is recorded in Kitabush Shari’ah of Imam Abu Bakr Al Ajurry (rahimahullah).

Maymun ibn Mihran (a Tabi’i -rahimahullah-) said: “Certain people say, ‘It is not permissible to seek forgiveness on behalf of ‘Uthman and ‘Ali, but I say, ‘May Allah forgive ‘Uthman, ‘Ali, Talhah and Zubayr (radiyallahu ‘anhum).”

(Kitabush Shari’ah: 1229)
