Khalid’s ibn Ma’dan statement regarding spending five nights of the year in ‘ibadah

Question

I want to know the authenticity of this particular saying of Tabi’i Khalid ibn Ma’dan (rahimahullah) who said:

“There are five particular nights in a whole year, whosoever spends these nights in worship with intention of gaining virtues and believing [in its promised virtues], Allah will grant him entrance into Jannah

1. The first night of Rajab (worships in the night and fasts during the day for all)

2) The 15th night of Sha’ban

3 and 4) Both nights of ‘Eid (fasting the day preceding these nights or some versions state ‘Does not fast the next day’)

5. The night of ‘Ashura.’

Answer

Imam Abu Muhammad Hasan ibn Muhammad Al Khallal (Demise: 439 A.H) has recorded this statement of Khalid ibn Ma’dan (rahimahullah).

(Fadailu Shahri Rajab: 17. Also see: Al Badrul Munir, vol. 5 pg. 40 and At Talkhisul Habir, vol. 3 pg. 1072)

The narration is suitable to quote.
