Answer:
Imam Abu Nu’aym (rahimahullah) and ‘Allamah Dhahabi (rahimahumallah) have recorded this.
(Hilyatul Awliya, vol. 2 pg. 103 and Siyaru A’alamin Nubala, vol. 4 pg. 51)
Aswad bin Yazid (rahimahullah) was a Mukhadram. [i.e. Those who were alive during the time of Nabi sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam but did not get the opportunity to meet him].
