The reward for defending a Muslim’s honour

Is the following narration reliable?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“He who defends the honour of his (Muslim) brother will have his face shielded by Allah from Jahannam on the Day of Judgement”

Answer

Imams Tirmidhi and Ahmad (rahimahumallah) have recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abud Darda (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 1931, Musnad Ahmad, vol. 6 pg. 450)

Imam Tirmidhi has graded the Hadith sound (hasan).
