‘Two people will perish on my account’- ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu)

Kindly shed light on the authenticity of the following Hadith:

“Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said to Sayyiduna ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) : “You have a resemblance to ‘Isa (‘alayhis salam), whom the Jews hated so much that they slandered his mother, and whom the Christians loved so much that they placed him in a position not rightly his.”

Sayyiduna ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said [afterwards], “Two people will perish on my account, one who loves me so excessively that he praises me for what I do not possess, and one who hates me so much that he will be impelled by his hatred to slander me….”

Answer

This narration is recorded in Musnad Ahmad and Musnad Abu Ya’la with a weak chain. Imam Bazzar (rahimahullah) has recorded a shorter version with a weak chain as well.

(Musnad Ahmad; Zawaid ‘Abdullah ibn Imam Ahmad, vol. 1 pg. 160, Musnad Abu Ya’la, Hadith: 534, Musnad Bazzar; Al Bahruz Zakkhar, Hadith: 758 Refer: Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 9 pg. 133)
