‘Humayra’ – the Pet name of Sayyidah ‘Aishah (radiyallahu ‘anha)

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Is this Hadith sahih?

On one occasion Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) addressed Sayyidah ‘Aishah (radiyallahu’anha) with the words: “O Humayra, do you wish to watch them?” [The Ethiopians demonstrating their spears]

Answer

Imam Nasai (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith. Hafiz Ibn Kathir and Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahumallah) have classified the chain as authentic (sahih).

(Al-Ijabah of ‘Allamah Zarkashi, pg.38 and Fathul Bari, Hadith: 950. Also see footnotes of Shaykh ‘Abdul Fattah Abu Ghuddah (rahimahullah) on Al-Masnu’, pg.212)

See here for reason they were demonstrating their weapons.
