Q: What is the sadaqatul fitr amount for this year in dollars?

A: The amount of Sadaqatul fitr will be determined through the value of half saa’ (i.e. 1.592136 Kg) of wheat or its equivalent in cash in the place one is discharging it.

عن ابن عباس قال : في آخر رمضان أخرجوا صدقة صومكم . فرض رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم هذه الصدقة صاعا من تمر أو شعير أو نصف صاع من قمح على كل حر أو مملوك ذكر أو أنثى صغير أو كبير. (مشكوة المصابيح 1/160)
