Reciting Surah Fatihah forty one (41) times for removal of difficulty

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

I have read somewhere that there is a Hadith that says if Surah Fatiha is recited forty one (41) times with bismillah, then it will cure any disease. I have also read somewhere else that it should be continued for forty (40) or forty one (41) days with bismillah joined to it. Is this a Hadith and is it Sahih?

Answer

I haven’t seen this in the popular Hadith sources, neither have I seen this clearly attributed to the Hadith.

It is possible that this is based on the experience of the scholars, in which case it will be permissible to recite without attributing it to the noble Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam)

Note: Surah Fatihah in general, has been mentioned in the authentic Hadiths as a means of cure.

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 2276)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
