Did Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) make dhikr when he was weaned off?

What is the status of the following narration?

Answer

Imams Bayhaqi and Ibn ‘Asakir (rahimahumallah) have recorded this as part of a lengthy narration. However, the chain consists of a narrator who has reported fabrications. Imam Bayhaqi (rahimahullah) has also stated that he is accused of fabricating narrations.

After citing the narration, ‘Allamah Ibn ‘Asakir (rahimahullah) says, “This is an extremely strange narration, there are some very feeble words in this narration which seem incorrect (هذا حديث غريب جدا وفيه ألفاظ ركيكة لا تشبه الصواب).”

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
