Another version of the incident wherein ‘Aaishah (radiyallahu ‘anha) only had dates to offer a woman and her daughters

What is the reference for this narration and can it be quoted?

“A woman entered upon Sayyidah ‘Aaishah (radiyallahu ‘anha) with her two daughters and she gave the woman three dates.
The woman gave each of her daughters a date and then she split the last one between her two daughters [she didn’t eat anything herself].
Sayyidah ‘Aaishah (radiyallahu ‘anha) then told Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) about what happened. He said: “Why are you surprised? She will enter Jannah because of that!”

Answer

Imam Ibn Majah (rahimahullah) has recorded this version of the Hadith.

(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 3668. Also see: Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2630)

‘Allamah Busiri (rahimahullah) has declared the chain authentic and the narrators reliable.

(Zawaid Ibn Majah, Hadith: 1250)

The narration can therefore be quoted.

Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has recorded a slightly different version of this incident. See it here.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
